California Mobilehome Law
Mobilehome Law Attorneys
The attorneys of Endeman, Lincoln, Turek & Heater, LLP began representing mobilehome residents and municipalities with mobilehome park issues more than 20 years ago. No other California law firm can match our experience, reputation, and results in the area of mobilehome law and litigation.
Representing Residents
We have represented thousands of mobilehome residents and recovered more than $75 million for mobilehome owners in lawsuits. In most cases, residents of a mobilehome park collectively have more invested in the property than the park owner. Yet, they often have little power to effect change. We level the playing field by providing a strong voice on behalf of mobilehome residents who have been treated unfairly or illegally.
Our mobilehome law practice includes assisting mobilehome residents with a variety of issues including:Exposure to toxins
- Personal injuries in mobile home parks
- Sewers that back up onto public spaces or homes
- Inadequate and dangerous electrical systems
- Leaky gas systems
- Contaminated water
- Inadequate water pressure
- Improper drainage leading to standing water or flooding
- Land subsidence that causes homes to split and break
- Construction defects
- Lease disputes
- Utility overcharges
- Unfair business practices
- Failure to maintain shared facilities and public spaces
- Interference with mobilehome sales
We help our clients obtain repairs to the park. We also help them recover monetary damages for overpayment of rent, damages for the nuisance and discomfort they have endured, compensation for the loss in home value, and emotional distress. In some cases, we have pursued and obtained punitive damages against the park owner. We have obtained verdicts as large as $12 million on behalf of residents.
All failure to maintain cases are different and require investigation before they may proceed through the court system. If you believe you live in a park that is not properly maintained, please contact us today. We will send you a questionnaire and evaluate your case at no charge.
Representing Municipalities
Our firm has represented dozens of cities throughout California advising on, drafting, and defending mobilehome rent control ordinances. One significant national case we handled was Yee v. City of Escondido, in which we successfully represented the City of Escondido before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Representing Homeowner Associations
We currently represent homeowner associations on issues ranging from formation to ownership and governance of the community.
As a result of our knowledge and success in this area, our attorneys have been requested to testify before the state legislature regarding legislation that affects the rights of mobilehome park residents and have taught courses on mobilehome law to other attorneys.
